BIO
Maddie Murphy grew up in Dallas, Texas and is a recent graduate of Pace University studying commercial dance. She recently worked with the tap company, Dorrance Dance, performing new works at Jacob’s Pillow and Queens Theatre. Maddie made her Joyce Theater debut in The Nutcracker Suite with Dorrance Dance back in December 2019. Her credits include Jacob's Pillow, Project Convergence, and working closely with Michelle Dorrance, Derick K. Grant, and Josette Wiggan-Freund. She grew up training in multiple styles of dance beginning at the age of 2, and was taught tap dance by her very own mother, Malana Murphy. Maddie is a Booker T Washington HSPVA alumni and a 2016 YoungArts finalist. Maddie is also on faculty at the tap dance festival, RIFF Dallas, and the tap summer workshop, Woodshed Experience.
