My concept was to create a cohesive brand for the public library system nationally, similar to the way the National Park Service has individual parks but an overarching visual identity. My main objective was to encourage people from age 20-50 to use their public library more frequently.
People often assume libraries are simply storage facilities for books, and they don't know about the large variety of resources offered. For example, most libraries have digital photograph collections which can be useful for doing research or just fun to look through.
I chose photographs from various libraries' digital collections to use on the front of the library cards to raise awareness of this resource.
Year-long Reading Challenge
The largest component of this project was creating the welcome booklet. The purpose of the booklet is to get new library members excited about the wide variety of resources available at their public library.
